The covid19 pandemic hit us three years ago and it really ruined the people in all aspects. War between nations is happening in some parts of the world however the impact of this was felt worldwide. The oil supply gets lower while the worldwide demand is increasing. It resulted in an overwhelming price hike of oil in the world market and we knew what was gonna happen next. Our basic commodities prices are increased, transportation fare hiked by triple folds, and who loses from all of these? We, the average people. But also during this moment, almost everything begun online. Online store and grocery, online class and education, online business such as freelancing, online selling, graphic design services online, Administrative task online, virtual assistance and many more institutions are offering online services.

War in Ukraine

I am an Overseas Filipino Worker and still I am emotionally and financially affected by this embarrassing situation that is happening right now. How much more for my family and friends and all the majority of people who are only earning a minimum wage in my beloved country. I know for a fact that this is beyond our control but for certainty we have full control over ourselves, our decisions, and we are the one to mold our own fate. If not then we must in order to survive.

This is where the idea of being a freelancer came up. All of the sudden I felt like changing my career from a traditional way of employment to its virtual counterpart or a remote worker.

Work from Home

I have a feeling of urgency when it comes to it. It was like I am losing hope with the traditional way however there is hope that is booming towards freelancing. Since before I really love to do design, arts, logo, t-shirt graphics for printing using free apps that are available to download for free in the app store. I uploaded arts on YouTube and I keep on doing this without knowing that what I did is already graphic design and so I found an opportunity to use my skill and develop it through formal training and be a real GRAPHIC DESIGN ARTIST.

Luckily I found the SURGE marketplace over the internet. They trained and equipped people who wanted to be in the freelancing business with enough knowledge and skills. I enrolled

myself in two courses. VIRTUAL ASSISTANCE and GRAPHIC DESIGN. It helped me start with the right setup to begin this new journey of my career. Being a freelance graphic design artist is new to me but somehow I have this feeling that I belong here and the most important thing is it aligns with my passion and that makes it so fulfilling.

Jaserografix came from Jayson Serohijos’ graphics. I FIX graphic-related problems of the business with all my ability and skills.
